Friends of the late Derek Ratcliffe took part in a Snooker tournament at the Sports Club.
Derek was a very keen snooker player, playing in the league for Bream Sports Club back in the day. When the league disbanded he still played occasionally on a casual basis. He particularly enjoyed matches against his son-in-law Chris when he visited the area. These matches used to be quite competitive between them with lots of friendly banter. When Derek died in December 2021, Chris decided to run an annual memorial snooker tournament in Derek‘s memory and to honour Derek he plays with Derek;s cue. It also raises vital funds for cancer research.
