Donation to Special School
BREAM Sports Club celebrated the end of the 2016 football season with a donation of £1,300 to Hearts of the Forest Special School at Speech House.
Spokesperson Jonathan Graham said: “We held a music festival in August and from it the football club donated £1,000. At our end of season get-together we had Russell Osman, ex-England international, who also starred in the film Escape to Victory. We raised another £300 at that event for Hearts of the Forest”.
Our chosen charity for this season is Bream Early Learners, who are trying to modernise their nursery classroom. We hope to raise £500 by the end of the season.
Bream Sports Club is also seeking funding to construct a new football pitch at the club.
Jonathan added: “We have not played at our club since the pitch was condemned because its playing surface was dangerous about 16 years ago.
We play our games at St Briavels, Dean Academy School and Bream Rugby Club. We’ve played at other places over the years, but there’s no place like home”.
